Van has more than 20 years of experience in the fitness industry as a trainer, exercise specialist, group instructor and fitness manager. Van spent his early years in Brooklyn, New York and Denver, where he was a former fitness television show host. He holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Precision Nutrition (ProCoach) and the American Red Cross (CPR/AED). He has also furthered his education through workshops including the Wharton Health Flexibility Clinic, Pose Method and NASM Neuromuscular Stretch.
A proud fitness nerd, Van has acquired the ability to analyze a client’s movement patterns and use that information to develop safe and effective injury-free exercise programming. His deep knowledge base includes corrective exercise, weight loss, strength and endurance training, core and cardiovascular conditioning, sports performance training and flexibility. He has worked with a wide-ranging clientele including college and amateur athletes, figure skaters, golfers, surfers, basketball players, pre/postnatal women, seniors and people with physical and developmental disabilities. Van is dedicated to providing personalized and intelligently-designed fitness programming that allows clients to reach their goals and still have quality time for family and friends.
In his early years, Van played basketball as a shooting guard. Additionally, he has always enjoyed trail running and hiking. In his free time, you can find him nerding out on finance and investing, studying the latest research on biohacking, writing music and spending time with his wife and twin boys.
